About the project

"Connected by rivers" is an international youth initiative project realized by Latvian youth society "Jaunatnes Čemodāns" (Rēzekne) and Polish youth society "Akademia Wspierania Mlodziezy" (Police).

The main themes of the project: European awareness and environment.

Main objectives of the project are:
- to promote young people’s active citizenship in general and their European citizenship in particular;
- to foster mutual understanding between young people in different countries.

Activities of the project will take place in Police and Rezekne.

Project time: 03.02.2014. - 20.08.2014. (7 months)

Number of participants: 10 participants from each country (Poland and Latvia).

Main activities: to get to know more about European Union, European Parlament, European rivers and our local rivers.

The participants take part in photo and internet-blog workshops. Moreover, they will participate in Rezekne river cleanup activities. The project is based on the non-formal educational methods.
